Tomorrow, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the lost children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools and their families and communities. On this day, Powell Contracting stands unified with the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis survivors, acknowledging the painful history and the intergenerational trauma caused by residential schools.
As we reflect on the deep wounds and the courage of the survivors, we commit ourselves to a path of learning and understanding. We pledge to immerse ourselves in the truths of our history, to listen to the stories, and to amplify the voices calling for reconciliation. Together, let us take firm steps towards a future of understanding, empathy, and harmony.
