Road safety and sustainability go hand-in-hand, and in order to develop our long-term sustainability objectives effectively into our business model, Powell Contracting has developed an ESG Framework which is visible through all levels of our organizations. Our framework allows us to take a multidisciplinary approach towards reaching our sustainability goals. We approach all of our projects with this process, as well as to monitor and report sustainability performance.

The ESG Framework applies from the earliest stage of a road safety infrastructure project, all the way through to the end. It centres on a consideration of environmental, social, and governance factors that pertain to our operations.
We're always striving to develop innovative methods for reducing the environmental impact of all of our projects. Along with implementing new governance methods and monitoring our projects' sustainability, we rely on our Sustainability Committee to help measure, analyze, and ultimately reduce our company's overall impact. Through proper planning, we can design and deliver projects responsibly with an emphasis on sustainable change for the environment. We hold ecological and environmental responsibility in high regard when it comes to the construction industry.
We recognize that our communities are our biggest resource, and that key to their prosperity is taking care of their environment. Our people-focused road safety projects look at adding long-lasting value, which reduces internal stress and intangible costs for the benefits of ourselves, our customers, and other stakeholders. We are closely involved in the local communities our projects impact and work with all stakeholders to ensure they are successful.
This strategy has a direct impact on economic performance. Through strong and responsible management of our assets, we can maximize our performance, deliver resource efficiency savings, and enable our customers and businesses to operate as efficiently as possible. Often times placing an emphasis on a community-based approach and environmental focus can create powerful impacts that can be strongly felt across all levels of business.
Sustainability has a huge role in providing community value. It is our responsibility to ensure that all stakeholders in our community, and those affected by our road safety projects, are heard. Everyone deserves to be treated equally when it comes to community engagement, and we strive to uphold our values of integrity and philanthropy.
We want to ensure that we are constantly ahead of the curve when it comes to protecting our environment. This means placing an emphasis on all project designs both physical and digital. We create meaningful workspaces that can have a lasting effect on employee performance. All of our designs look at minimizing physical waste while effectively creating environmental value.
Our focus is to ensure that all business leaders and departments are equipped with the tools they need to lead and manage. We facilitate a broad scope of career development opportunities and strategies which can be utilized to maximize current opportunities.
Our Sustainability Committee is dedicated to developing a culture of sustainability and consciousness when it comes to our company's environmental impact. It develops company-wide initiatives based on research and analysis and implements them while monitoring and measuring results.

Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee is a consolidated step in making Powell Contracting a stronger and more effective organization, that will help us to better service our customers. We believe that mental and physical health should be a priority in any work environment. Which is why we have several wellness focused initiatives for employees like our annual Powell Wellness Challenge.
